Braden's Coming Home (Kinda)

Braden is going back home, to the only home he has known so far, Baylor Hospital. In less than 24 hours from his operation at Children's, his doctor feels Braden is stable enough to move back. We were told 1 to 3 days recovery, barring no unforeseen setbacks. The least amount of time sounds promising to us.

The report on Braden's condition is he is back to full feeds already. He came out of his ordeal hungry! He has been very comfortable, just laying there checking out his new surroundings. His color is good and his swelling on his head is down. Last night he gave us a little scare, his blood gases were coming back off. Turns out he had some liquid buildup in his lungs. They gave him medication for this and today he is breathing fine. We hate to get too excited because he still has a tough road ahead, but it is hard not to, at least a little bit. We have plenty of new pictures hopefully we can share with you in the next day or two. Thanks for checking by so often, and to the nurses, doctors, and friends at Baylor, see you soon! The preemie prince is on his way back!

I am excited for you all! I know it is a relief for the procedure to be over. We will pray for continued healing and for his little body to accept the changes well. He is such an amazing baby and a perfect example of God's miraculous work!

What a great way to keep us all informed, it is truely wonderful. I can't say enough about how proud we are of this family, to watch what you have endured over the last few months. I am glad to hear that Braden is doing better and his surgery went well. I can tell that he has a lot of that "Fighting Jackson" blood in him. Thank you for keeping us all updated so regularly. I can't wait to meet him in person.

Love and miss all of you,
Livia
